Information Technology

Our Information Technology Department offers courses for all three grade levels. Here are the course descriptions:

6th grade: Information and Communications Technology 1

This course teaches keyboarding skills and the basics of the World Wide Web, networks and the Internet, digital communication, finding information and digital citizenship. Students have the opportunity to earn an IC3 – Living Online certification.

7th grade: Information and Communications Technology 2

This course teaches computing fundamentals, including operating systems, hardware/software, troubleshooting, and key applications, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Photoshop. Students have the opportunity to earn IC3 – Computing Fundamentals and IC3 – Key Applications certifications.

8th grade: Digital Information Technology

The eighth grade course is an in depth course that includes Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. This is a high school credit class for students. They have the opportunity to earn a Microsoft Bundle certification. This course fulfills the high school Fine Arts and Online requirements.
