SRCDS COVID-19 Symptomatic Students In Schools
Includes students who are symptomatic, awaiting test results, not yet evaluated, or determined positive/negative.
This information is subject to change at any time based on guidance from the Florida Department of Health.
Symptoms of COVID-19 may include but are not limited to: fever (100.4 or higher), cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion, runny nose, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Contact your health department or medical provider.
STUDENT SHOULD BE SENT HOME IMMEDIATELY AND NOT RETURN UNTIL:
- It has been at least 10 days since student first had symptoms, AND
- Student has been without fever for 24 hours (medication free), AND
- All symptoms have improved.
If clinically evaluated with an alternate diagnosis (flu, cold, norovirus, strep throat, etc.), follow provider directions, treatment and return guidance. Provide school a physician note if returning earlier than 10 days.
A medical provider may authorize an earlier or later return to school. Provide physician note for either.
