SRCDS COVID-19 Students Exposed At School

Exposed students will be identified as contact or sustained contact. Contact means in the same class. Sustained Contact means within 6 feet of the Covid-19 positive person, for at least 15 minutes, and starting 48 hours before symptoms first appeared or 48 hours before the person tested positive for Covid-19.

This information is subject to change at any time based on guidance from the Florida Department of Health.

Students NOT identified as having SUSTAINED CONTACT may remain at school but should be monitored for symptoms. Contact your health department or medical provider if symptoms occur.

Parents concerned about exposures that do not meet this criteria should follow
medical provider or health department guidance.

NO or SUSTAINED CONTACT

In collaboration with the health department, students having been in sustained contact, will be notified by school personnel or the health department and will be instructed to self isolate for 14 days.
A negative test does not allow an early return to school.

Students should be monitored for symptoms including but not limited to: fever (100.4 or higher), cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion, runny nose, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.  Contact your health department or medical provider. If symptoms develop please seek medical care, and get tested.
